Matt Caldar is a graduate landscape architect and recipient of the RMIT Landscape Architecture Design Research Prize for his major project, Material Migrations: Finding a Landscape Architectural Tectonic Practice at the Former Maribyrnong Migrant Hostel. He was also awarded the Jones & Whitehead Excellence in Design Research as well as the Robert Van De Graaf Technology Award for his work. In addition to everyday practice, he has run architecture and landscape architecture studios and electives at RMIT University and co-founded the AILA Fresh Mentorship program.
