Barbara Bynder is a practising artist whose work reflects her indigeneity and sits outside the bounds of what is perceived to be Aboriginal art. Barbara is a proud Noongar woman whose connections to family span the Noongar nation. Barbara has a BA Arts, HDR Anthropology and is currently undergoing a doctorate at the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle Campus. Barbara teaches Culture to Cultures and Australian Aboriginal Art at Curtin University, Western Australia. Barbara shares her passion for art, communicates issues of culture and Aboriginal interest and aims to educate the wider community to the richness and diversity of today's Aboriginal people, culture and heritage.
